About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Project Director to join our Buildings and Places team at Project Redirect Inc Of The District. As a key member of our senior management group, you will be responsible for leading our project teams to deliver high-quality projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Lead project teams to complete work in accordance with budget, quality, and timelines for clients.
  2. Safety and Quality: Champion AECOM safety initiatives and advocate for a safe working environment.
  3. Contract Management: Manage the preparation of contracts, service agreements, partnerships, variations, and/or change orders.
  4. Business Development: Manage and lead bid submissions and funding arrangements.
  5. Communication: Write and prepare letters and reports, and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  6. Team Management: Manage members of the project management team assigned to the individual.
  7. Collaboration: Coordinate with discipline leaders within Buildings and across the organization to support strong collaboration and integrated delivery.
  8. Client Management: Attend and lead client briefings and planning and design workshops, and present project stages and work to the client throughout the project.
  9. Financial Management: Ensure expected outcomes, budget expenditures, and established timeframes are met.
  10. Quality Assurance: Ensure accuracy and quality of work in accordance with project scope within project parameters and client requirements.
  11. Reporting: Manage the presentation and report development for the client, and play a key role in client management and client satisfaction.
  12. Progress Monitoring: Meet with and report to the Buildings Director on a regular basis to track project progress against deliverables.
  13. Financial Administration: Issue invoices and resolve overdue payments when required in consultation with the Finance group and in accordance with AECOM standards.
  14. Quality Improvement: Implement and use AECOM's QA system within all project work, and maintain and refine in-house standards, procedures, and policy.
  15. Business Growth: Lead marketing efforts to current clients, and be instrumental in identifying and attracting new clients.
  16. Delegation: Delegate aspects of the project to team members and oversee their delivery in a timely and accurate manner with agreed quality standards.
  17. Committee Participation: Participate in Regional and Firm-wide committees, forums, and Practice Networks as required.
Requirements
  1. Proven Track Record: A proven track record of successfully delivering major multi-disciplinary programs in the Middle East.
  2. Flexibility and Breadth of Experience: Flexibility and breadth of experience and knowledge across the design, planning, and delivery of major projects.
  3. Project Management Experience: Extensive experience in the management of major multi-disciplinary projects from proposal development to completion, including periodic project reviews.
  4. Team Management: Proven ability to manage a team and manage multi-disciplinary project teams.
  5. Financial Management: Strong financial and budget management skills.
  6. Business Development: Proven track record in successfully securing new work as well as maintaining existing contracts.
  7. Industry Experience: Experience working in tier 1 professional services consultancies is preferred.
  8. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  9. Experience: 20+ years in the master planning, design, architectural or engineering disciplines.
  10. Lead Role Experience: 10 years in a lead role delivering major projects.
  11. Team Management Experience: Proven experience successfully managing a team and multi-disciplinary project teams (> 25+).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Education: A Honours degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering.
  2. Additional Qualifications: Additional degrees or qualifications in related fields (e.g. PMP) will be considered favorably.
