Job Description

The successful candidate will be instrumental in orchestrating the handover and set up, from construction to day-to-day operations of the hotel. This includes providing leadership and direction for the operations of the Engineering, Landscaping & Security Teams with a focus on service and operational logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handover and Set Up: Ensure strict compliance in accordance to Novotel standards and brand deliverables for the successful handover from construction to operations.
  • Preventative Maintenance Program: Develop and implement a program for guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems while working closely with Operational Divisions.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical information for repair, maintenance, operation, modification, and replacement activity to ensure all jobs are being done correctly.
  • Landscaping and Pool Maintenance: Oversee the landscaping of the Hotel and pool maintenance.
  • Financial Planning: Participate in the preparation of CAPEX expenditures for Hotel as well as annual budget preparation for department and monthly forecasting and commentary.
  • Talent Management: Recruit, schedule, complete payroll, performance reviews and the training & development, and engagement strategies for all engineering team members.
  • Contractor Management: Coordinate and manage outside contractors, including sourcing of appropriate suppliers, preparation of purchase orders, facilitation of supplier negotiations.
  • Energy and Water Management: Assist in the monitoring of energy and water management programs.
  • Fire Safety and Emergency Response: Monitor, update and implement the fire safety plan, building evacuation and disaster recovery plan.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and complete all audits related to engineering and risk management.
  • Emergency Response Team: Manage the hotel emergency response team in coordination with security and hotel management.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in product development, engineering, or technical leadership roles, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and outsourced partners.
  • Leadership skills demonstrated ability to lead teams through periods of transition, growth, and execution.
  • Technical expertise hands-on experience with modern technologies, including React, Java, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Agile Methodology deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with a proven ability to implement and optimize these practices.
  • Communication skills exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
