Job Summary

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of BTEC Level 1 qualifications in vocational subjects such as Hospitality, Travel and Tourism, and Food Technology. This role requires experience in teaching and managing a team of HLTAs/Job Coaches to support students with special educational needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with SEN
  • Manage a team of HLTAs/Job Coaches to provide support to students
  • Secure and manage work experience placements to align with students' future goals
  • Provide sensory support to students with sensory processing difficulties
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to create and monitor work experience placements
  • Lead regular training sessions for HLTAs/Job Coaches and external stakeholders on best practices for supporting students with SEN
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments
Requirements
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or equivalent with specialisation in Special Educational Needs
  • Proven experience teaching BTEC Level 1 qualifications, particularly in vocational subjects
  • Experience working with young adults with special educational needs, including supporting sensory needs and communication difficulties
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of HLTAs or Job Coaches
  • Experience securing and managing work experience placements for students with SEN
  • Strong knowledge of SEN teaching methods and strategies
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
