Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will support the Global Operations Services Section in various aspects of sourcing and evaluation of Ground Handling Agents for SkyCargo. This includes formulating guidelines, collating and compiling decision support tools, and designing and developing supplier management tools.

The job holder will also ensure that all required shipment data is provided to the relevant authorities prior to loading the shipment on the aircraft from its origin station. Additionally, they will monitor Emirates SkyCargo's internal trade compliance system and take timely action to stop or approve hits on Regulatory Sanctions, Dual Use Goods, denied party screening, and embargoed shipments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research industry information and assist in formulating and updating criteria and guidelines for the selection/renewal of Cargo Handling Agents.
  • Update and maintain tender cargo handling questionnaires and related tools to elicit required information from potential handling agents.
  • Collate and provide industry and internal statistical analysis to serve as key decision support tools in the handling agency selection/renewal process.
  • Formulate guidelines and checklists for GHA commencement and/or changeover and coordinate the transition process with route management systems.
  • Provide input for the design and development of Service Level Agreements and Performance Measurement Reports.
  • Liaise with outstation Cargo Managers to collate and analyse issues involving safety, customer service claims, and operational efficiency.
  • Obtain handling costs information and provide detailed analysis to determine corrective measures towards cost containment.
  • Formulate documentation for self-handling procedures and monitor implementation at selected stations.
  • Participate in identifying parameters to compare GHA performance across the network and initiating a mechanism to recognise and reward outstanding performance.
  • Ensure compliance with EU GDP requirements for the handling of time and temperature and pharmaceutical shipments.
Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • 12 Years schooling or equivalent
  • Must have passed Cargo acceptance and handling courses, including special loads handling
  • Experience in airport cargo operations related areas
  • Exposure to ground handling activities would be an added advantage

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Cargo handling and freighter operations
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and competence in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) acquired through experience and training
