Position Overview
The Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) is a pivotal regional financial institution established to enhance economic, financial, and monetary stability across its member nations. With a commitment to fostering economic integration and development, the AMF serves 22 member countries.
To fulfill its mission, the AMF offers various credit facilities aimed at bolstering external sector stability and addressing balance of payments challenges. The organization is also dedicated to enhancing the financial sector within the Arab region through capacity-building initiatives, including training programs and technical assistance.
The Training and Capacity Building Institute (TCBI), founded in 1988, focuses on empowering officials from member states by providing specialized training in economics, finance, and policy development. This is achieved through tailored, hands-on training courses designed to strengthen the human, institutional, and technical capacities of member countries.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will undertake a diverse array of responsibilities, including:
- Designing, organizing, and delivering training and technical assistance in Financial Sector Policies, covering areas such as Financial Market Analysis, Banking Supervision, and Macroprudential Policies through various modalities (in-person, virtual, hybrid).
- Developing new training courses to address the evolving needs of member countries and staying updated with advancements in economic and financial analysis.
- Engaging in outreach efforts to align technical assistance and training with the capacity-building requirements of the member states.
- Actively participating in the execution of AMF initiatives.
- Conducting research and generating reports on Economic and Financial subjects.
- Contributing to reports and working papers related to the activities of committees and working groups from the Council of Arab Central Bank Governors and other financial authorities.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with external organizations, academic institutions, and stakeholders to enhance training resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential Qualifications:
Citizen of an Arab country.
- Master's degree (preferably Ph.D.) in economics, finance, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, ideally in a supervisory capacity within central banks, ministries of finance, or similar organizations.
- Proficiency in Arabic, with knowledge of English and French considered an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in economic and statistical software such as Python, R, and EViews.
- A proven track record of publications in reputable economic journals within the fields of economics, finance, and monetary policy.
- Experience in formulating macroeconomic policies and understanding the interplay between various macroeconomic strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multicultural team environment.
