Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Superintendent to join our team at V Group Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels, while also providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities


Safety
The Fleet Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that all vessels are operated in a safe and compliant manner, in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This will involve working closely with the Fleet Manager to identify and mitigate any safety risks, and implementing measures to prevent accidents and incidents.

Customer Service
The Fleet Superintendent will be the primary point of contact for our clients, providing them with timely and accurate information about the operation of their vessels. This will involve communicating effectively with clients, responding to their queries and concerns, and providing them with regular updates on vessel performance.

Vessel Management
The Fleet Superintendent will be responsible for the overall management of our vessels, including planning and coordinating maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking. This will involve working closely with the Fleet Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that all vessels are operated efficiently and effectively.

Leadership
The Fleet Superintendent will be responsible for leading and managing a team of senior officers, providing them with guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively. This will involve conducting performance appraisals, providing training and development opportunities, and promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.

Reporting and Analysis
The Fleet Superintendent will be responsible for preparing and submitting regular reports to management, including vessel performance data, safety metrics, and customer satisfaction ratings. This will involve analyzing data and identifying trends and areas for improvement, and developing recommendations for improving vessel performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements


  • Recognised Engineering or Naval Architecture qualification and/or relevant experience at sea.
  • Good communication (oral and written) and English language skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • An ability to develop creative and effective solutions to problems.


Desirable

  • 2 Year's experience as a senior shipboard officer on relevant ship type.
  • Previous experience as a Fleet Superintendent in a Technical Department, or previous experience in a Senior Engineering/Naval Architecture position in the Marine Industry.
  • Member of IMarEST and Engineering Council registration or other equivalent recognised professional registration.
  • Basic financial understanding and some experience in administering budgets.
