We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Duncan & Ross. Key Responsibilities:- Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for instrumentation systems, including Instrument Index Datasheets, Loop Diagrams, P&IDs, and control system architecture.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of instrumentation designs.
- Select appropriate instrumentation components and equipment based on project requirements and technical specifications.
- Prepare technical proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and designers, to integrate instrumentation designs into overall project deliverables.
- Conduct technical reviews, inspections, and audits to verify adherence to design standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, resolving technical issues and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of instrumentation systems.
- Participate in HAZOP studies, design reviews, and risk assessments as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to instrumentation engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience of 10 years as an Instrumentation Engineer, preferably within the water treatment industry or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of international codes and standards (e.g., ISA, API, IEC) relevant to instrumentation design.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools, such as AutoCAD, SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation), PLC/DCS programming software, and simulation tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (preferred).
- Experience with SIL (Safety Integrity Level) analysis and certification (preferred).
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices (preferred).
- Prior experience in conducting design optimization and value engineering studies (preferred).
