Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Design Engineer to join our team at Wood. As a Telecommunications Design Engineer, you will be responsible for originating new and revising existing telecommunications engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate new and revise existing telecommunications engineering drawings to ensure compliance with company procedures, standards, and checklists.
  • Prepare complete bills of materials for all assigned drawings to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Receive training related to job requirements to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Awareness and adherence to drafting aspects such as correct use of symbols, layers, and formats to maintain high-quality deliverables.
  • Effective completion of work within allocated man-hours to meet project deadlines and plan work to avoid slippage.
  • Interface, coordinate, and communicate effectively with the Project Lead and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines as necessary in the preparation and development of deliverables to ensure incorporation of all input.
  • Support Telecommunications Design Coordinator and/or Senior Designer in maintaining a needs list of design criteria to support completion of drafting assignments.
  • Conduct site visits to verify site conditions and markup drawings/perform as-built activities to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Associate Degree in Telecommunication/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent diploma.
  • Minimum work experience entry level 0-2 years industry experience.
  • Good level of general computer literacy and some basic familiarity with relevant engineering software (Auto Cad, MicroStation).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to join our team immediately.
