Position Overview: The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, management, implementation, and assessment of controls and processes essential for managing the Group's extensive ESG Reporting obligations at both local and aggregated levels across a portfolio of subsidiaries comprising 200 entities. This role will initially focus on facilitating the rollout of a comprehensive ESG reporting software across the Group, transitioning into an ongoing evaluation of the Group's ESG metrics against established targets and objectives, with the aim of enhancing ESG ratings and aligning with sustainable financing KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and assist in the design and execution of a cost-effective and efficient processing infrastructure to manage substantial volumes of ESG data, identifying and analyzing areas of ESG risk while ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor reporting procedures, recommending software enhancements that improve efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining data quality. This includes collaborating with various stakeholders to implement ESG Reporting software across group companies, providing training, technical, and functional support, and developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and user manuals.
  • Responsible for the consolidation of ESG data and the delivery of comprehensive ESG reports from diverse Group companies with varying systems and local reporting requirements. Drive the conceptualization of reports and the effective use of available business intelligence tools, supporting the integration of source systems into the ESG reporting software.
  • Plan and execute the Group ESG audit for assigned group companies, ensuring alignment with deliverables set by senior management. Support the audit processes as needed and address any queries raised by auditors, which may involve amending procedures as necessary.
  • Ensure interpretation, application, and compliance with ISSB, CSRD, UNGC, and other emerging local or regional ESG reporting standards.
  • Provide guidance to CEOs, CFOs, and Sustainability teams in assigned group companies regarding their ESG disclosure obligations, ensuring alignment with Group standards. This includes developing training materials and awareness programs to enhance fluency and capacity building across the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of ESG reports in accordance with global standards and regulations (such as GRI, ISSB, UNGC, and CSRD) and other annual compliance activities, including EU ETS and CORSIA. Align group-wide narratives in responses to sustainability rating agencies, banks, and counterparty questionnaires.
  • Support the Manager of ESG Finance in developing and implementing the Group's ESG reporting strategy, integrating the financial impacts of ESG risks, monitoring ESG trends, regulations, and benchmarks, and assessing implications for the Group's business strategy, including emerging climate-related financial risks.
  • Conduct regular materiality assessments of the assigned portfolio companies to identify ESG risks and opportunities that may affect the Group's financial performance and reputation.
  • Perform ESG due diligence across various ESG verticals and monitor assigned group companies and lines of business, evaluating ESG performance and identifying areas for improvement and alignment with the goal of incorporating climate-related financial risks into financial planning, budgeting, and investment decision-making processes.

Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • 8 years of experience in Finance & Insurance/Accounts.
  • A degree or honors (123 or equivalent), preferably in a related field such as Accounting, Regulatory Compliance, or ESG. Experience from a global finance organization working with ESG and/or IFRS compliance, or from a Big 4 firm within Sustainable Finance is preferred.
  • Experience in Finance, Economics, Climate Science, or Audit.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of ESG standards and guidelines (including CSRD, GRI, ISSB, TCFD, and UNGC).
  • In-depth understanding of climate change science and its potential financial implications.
  • Experience in implementing ESG software solutions and leveraging ERP, EPM, and digital technologies for data collection.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and visualizations.
