Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Instructor to join our team at International Community Schools Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and operation of our science laboratories, providing a safe and stimulating environment for students to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experiment Preparation and Execution
    • Prepare and set up laboratory experiments, including arranging materials, equipment, and specimens.
    • Conduct routine cleaning and sterilization of laboratory tools and surfaces to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Technical Support and Guidance
    • Assist science teachers in planning and executing laboratory-based lessons and demonstrations.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to students during laboratory exercises, helping them understand and apply scientific concepts.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures within the laboratory to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
    • Conduct safety audits and ensure that all safety equipment, such as eye wash stations and fire extinguishers, is readily available and in good working order.
  • Inventory Management and Reporting
    • Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
    • Maintain an organized inventory system, ordering and replenishing materials as necessary.
    • Prepare reports on laboratory operations, equipment status, and safety compliance as required by school administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly in an educational environment, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
