Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Lab Instructor at International Community Schools Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and operation of our science laboratories, providing a safe and stimulating environment for students to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up laboratory experiments, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available and in good working order.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and sterilization of laboratory tools and surfaces to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist science teachers in planning and executing laboratory-based lessons and demonstrations, providing technical support and guidance to students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help or clarification during laboratory sessions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment within the laboratory, promoting a culture of respect and collaboration among students and staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly in an educational environment, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
