Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Designer to join our team at Wood. As a Senior Process Designer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing processes within various industries, particularly in engineering, manufacturing, and chemical sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assigned process design work as part of a multi-discipline project team.
  • Perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations as per business needs.
  • Provide discipline-specific design and drafting services that meet the Project's, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.
  • Produce 2D drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Assist in the preparation of line lists and tie-in lists.
  • Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline.
  • Promote safe behavior at all times.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Previous experience working on Iraq projects is preferable.
  • Previous Wood experience preferred.
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience in Conceptual, FEED, and Detailed Design is required.
  • Experience in the preparation and coordination of Process design deliverables.
  • Compliance with industry, international, and Client Codes and standards. Onshore Oil and Gas related Process design experience.
  • A determination to continually improve safety in all aspects of plant design and operation.

  3. Project Management: Ability to oversee projects, manage timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful project delivery.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to identify process inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions.
  5. Collaboration: Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and project managers, to ensure design feasibility and integration.
  6. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to process design.
  7. Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality control and assurance processes to ensure designs meet specified standards.
  8. Mentorship: Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth within the team.
  9. Data Analysis: Skills in analyzing process data to inform decisions and improvements, often using statistical methods.
  10. Sustainability Practices: Awareness of sustainable design principles and practices to minimize environmental impact and enhance process efficiency.
