Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Core Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and deploying globally distributed, fault-tolerant solutions using a variety of AWS services. You will also support project and operational teams through the adoption of GitOps, continuous delivery pipelines, and DevSecOps security capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Architect and deploy globally distributed, fault-tolerant solutions using AWS services, ensuring team members can securely access service and network resources.
  • GitOps and CI/CD: Support project and operational teams through the adoption of GitOps, continuous delivery pipelines, and DevSecOps security capabilities.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Investigate and optimize infrastructure to support highest quality data channels.
  • Distributed Compute Management: Manage and maintain distributed compute through configuration, hardening, and patching.
  • Monitoring and Automation: Systematically monitor distributed and varied infrastructure and suggest and implement automations, services, and features that improve overall org efficiency.
  • Software Deployment: Rapidly deploy lean software and iteratively support, extend, and elevate to production-grade systems.
  • Team Support: Provide support to the engineering team at large, encouraging best practice across the SDLC.
Requirements
  • AWS Expertise: Expert knowledge of AWS (multi-region, multi-account administration).
  • Operating System Knowledge: Deep understanding of Linux/Unix-like operating systems.
  • CI/CD Experience: Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • IaC and Templating: Strong IaC, templating, scripting skills (Terraform, Helm, YAML, Bash, Python).
  • Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Container Orchestration: Intimate experience with container orchestration systems and underlying technologies (K8s, Docker, containerd).
  • Distributed Cloud Computing: Adherence to distributed cloud computing principles (networking, observability, high availability, reproducible, and composable systems).
  • Security: Experience working with zero-trust security models and implementing modern security best practice within an AWS operating environment.
  • Global Team Experience: Demonstrated ability to work in a global team environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Academic Background: Strong academics in Computer Science or Software Engineering from a top-tier university.
  • Development Background: Background in development/engineering.
  • Networking Knowledge: Working knowledge configuring VPNs and site-to-site network access patterns.
  • Web3 Knowledge: Working knowledge or interest in web3 technologies and their applications.
