Job Overview

First Gulf Bank PJSC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to lead the technology architecture of our international operations. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for assessing the current technology architecture, defining the target state technology architecture, and driving us towards our target state technology architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Document Current Technology Architecture

Conduct a thorough assessment of the current technology architecture for our international operations, documenting key findings and recommendations for improvement.

Define Target State Technology Architecture

Work with cross-functional teams to define the target state technology architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Develop Roadmap for Implementation

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive roadmap for implementing the target state technology architecture, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

Deliver Architecture Artifacts

Develop and deliver architecture artifacts, such as strategy documents, reference architectures, technical standards, and design documents, to ensure consistency and excellence in technology architecture.

Lead Technical Influence

Exert technical influence over multiple teams, sharing expertise and best practices to increase productivity and effectiveness.

Lead or Contribute to Technology Initiatives

Lead or contribute to multiple simultaneous technology initiatives, driving innovation and excellence in technology architecture.

Mentor and Develop Team Members

Assist in the career development of team members, mentoring them on advanced technical issues and best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Experience

A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.

Senior Architecture Experience in Multinational Financial Institutions

Previous experience in senior architecture roles within multinational financial institutions is required.

Expertise in Building or Modernizing Mobile Banking Applications

Expertise in building or modernizing mobile banking applications is required.

Good Mix of Infrastructure, Security, and Application Development

A good mix of infrastructure, security, and application development expertise is required.

Expert Knowledge in Reliability, Performance, Scalability, Enterprise System Architecture, and Engineering Best Practices

Expert knowledge in reliability, performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices is required.

At Least 5 Years Leading Large-Scale Software Projects

At least 5 years of experience leading large-scale software projects is required.

Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Experience in Building High-Performance, Highly Available, and Scalable Distributed Systems

Experience in building high-performance, highly available, and scalable distributed systems, preferably running on public clouds such as AWS or Azure, is required.

Experience Architecting Highly Secure Internet Facing Web Services

Experience architecting highly secure internet-facing web services is required.

AWS or Azure Solutions Architect Certified

AWS or Azure solutions architect certified is required.

Expertise in Banking Areas Such as Retail, Corporate, Commercial Banking, Channels, Core Systems, Middleware, Control Functions, Customer Engagement Layer, or Payments

Expertise in at least one of the banking areas such as retail, corporate, commercial banking, channels, core systems, middleware, control functions, customer engagement layer, or payments is required.
