It operates through various segments, including Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate. The Upstream segment encompasses the exploration and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Downstream segment is dedicated to refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, and petrochemical products, along with related services for both international and domestic clients. The Corporate segment provides essential support services, including human resources, finance, and information technology.

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned financial consultant to join our Downstream Finance and Performance Management Department, focusing on Segment Financial Controlling and Financial Advisory activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate financial and management reports, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
  • Oversee global financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Engage in the consolidation and reconciliation of financial figures for executive management reporting.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Evaluate the organization’s financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for operational goals and strategic planning.
  • Perform cash flow analyses and identify necessary financial tools for resource allocation.
  • Develop financial statements for various product and regional segments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Treasury, Accounting Policy, Tax, Pricing, Financial Accounting, External Reporting, Enterprise Risk, Audit, and Affiliates.
  • Establish and maintain reconciliation controls on balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in the budget development process, monitoring and allocating budgets in alignment with business needs.
  • Coordinate the resolution of audit exceptions for both internal and external audits.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting issues to the finance community.
  • Identify and implement controls on key financial processes.
  • Ensure accurate recognition of provisions related to environmental remediation and asset retirement obligations.
  • Supervise the implementation of cost-effective internal controls and assess their adequacy.
  • Support business development initiatives, including capital projects and upgrades.
  • Contribute to business systems architecture and ERP initiatives for financial functions.
  • Develop and review comprehensive financial models for corporate finance transactions and conduct valuation analyses.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires the candidate to relocate permanently.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is essential.
  • Possession of a professional accounting/finance designation (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA, CA, CFA) is required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in finance and reporting, with at least 5 years in the Oil and Gas Downstream sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing financial controls is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS as it relates to the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with SAP Finance Modules is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • In-depth knowledge in areas such as trade accounting, impairment, asset accounting, cost reallocations, revenue accounting, transfer pricing, and financial consolidation is advantageous.
  • Strong modeling experience is a plus, allowing for a broader range of responsibilities.
