Asterix Communications seeks a seasoned Logistics Manager to lead our global logistics operations. As a key member of our Supply Chain Management team, you will be responsible for managing logistics operations, providing expertise in controls and documentation, and working with Product Service Lines to identify needs and ensure transportation arrangements meet operational requirements.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide management, leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a team of logistics professionals.
  2. Manage logistics operations for an area or region, providing expertise in controls and documentation for all types of moves.
  3. Work with Product Service Lines to identify needs and ensure inbound and outbound transportation are arranged to meet operational needs.
  4. Manage the performance of service providers and analyze data to identify trends.
  5. Forecast trends and issues that may impact the future movement of goods internationally, considering legal and customs requirements.
  6. Set benchmarks for global volume and cost trends by mode.
  7. Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with regional initiatives for Asterix Communications' overall goal.
  8. Oversee contract management and execution, including negotiating, setting price levels, and approving significant contracts with logistics service providers.
  9. Provide sourcing expertise using logistics technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and laws to negotiate agreements.
  10. Have a full understanding of Incoterms and their impact.
  11. Manage complex strategic logistics projects through a combination of leadership and subject-matter expertise.
  12. Provide inputs and guidance to the finance and accounting departments for forecasting.
  13. Perform various managerial functions, including interviewing applicants, training employees, directing and apportioning subordinate work, setting hours of work, appraising subordinate work performance, disciplining subordinates, recommending increases in compensation for subordinates, and handling employee grievances.
  14. Make decisions regarding, and/or make recommendations regarding, the hiring and firing of employees.

Qualifications

Requires completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, or Engineering and 8 to 10 years of experience in related logistics fields with all transport modes (Ocean, Air, or Land), including hazardous cargo movements. MBA degree preferred. IATA, IMDG, and CFR49 may be required based on scope of work.
