Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Team Leader to join our team at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Limited.

About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and Supervise Duties: Ensure seamless execution of opening and closing brigade duties, guaranteeing prompt service and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Assist Assistant Manager: Collaborate with the assistant manager in making arrangements according to reservations and special events, ensuring smooth operations and maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain Equipment and Furniture: Assist in checking the condition, cleanliness, and proper functioning of all operating equipment and furniture, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Train Junior Staff: Participate in the training of junior waiters and waitresses, enhancing their knowledge and skills to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Set Up Restaurant Section: Ensure the correct and complete set-up of the restaurant section assigned, creating a welcoming ambiance for guests.
  • Supervise Supplies: Assist in following up on all supplies from the store and linen room, preventing stock shortages and minimizing waste.
  • Welcome Guests: Welcome guests to your station, assist in seating, and present menus and beverage lists with recommendations designed to increase average check.
  • Take Orders: Take food and beverage orders promptly and ensure speedy service of all items, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure Correct Setting: Ensure each table is correctly set up as per food and beverage order requirements, guaranteeing a positive dining experience.
  • Participate in Service: Participate in the service of food and beverage items, especially during rush hours, contributing to the overall efficiency of the restaurant.
  • Check Billing Procedures: Check and follow up on billing and checking procedures as per policies set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
  • Cash Handling: Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed as per policies set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
  • Be Present During Service Hours: Be present in the restaurant during service hours, available to address any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Clean and Reset Tables: Ensure that tables are cleaned and reset immediately after guests have left, in line with the standards set by Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
  • Develop Relations with Guests: Develop and maintain good relations with guests, handle guest complaints as required by the restaurant manager or his assistant, and keep the restaurant manager and assistant restaurant manager informed of all guest comments and complaints.
  • Attend Meetings: Attend communication meetings, briefings, and training sessions as required by the restaurant manager, training manager, and food and beverage manager.
  • Presentation and Grooming: Keep uniform neat and clean and ensure good personal grooming and hygiene in accordance with the standards of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
