Job Title: Lead Technical Safety Engineer

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Lead Technical Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical safety solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Assurance: Provide technical assurance and quality control for engineering projects, ensuring that all safety requirements are met and that the design meets all technical safety standards.
  • Resource Management: Manage and coordinate the technical safety team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Standardization and Replication: Develop and implement technical safety standards and procedures across the contract, ensuring consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Delivery of Engineering Excellence: Work closely with the project team to deliver engineering excellence, ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule and to the required standard.
  • Quality of Technical Safety Deliverables: Ensure that all technical safety deliverables are of the highest quality, meeting all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Technical Safety Guidance: Provide technical safety guidance and support to the team, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Task Delegation: Supervise and support task delegation to the team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Audits and Incident Investigations: Participate in audits and incident investigations as required, ensuring that all incidents are thoroughly investigated and that corrective actions are taken to prevent future incidents.
  • Project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL Studies: Participate in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops as required, ensuring that all safety risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to site as required, ensuring that all technical safety issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Team Management: Manage the technical safety discipline team, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Requirements:

  • Expert Knowledge: Expert knowledge of the fundamentals of technical safety engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Start-up.
  • International Codes and Standards: Expert awareness of international codes and standards.
  • Regulatory Framework: Self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursue continuous professional development.
