Job Title: Senior Materials Logistics Specialist

At Wood, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Materials Logistics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of materials and logistics activities across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Warehouse Operations: Establish, manage, and maintain the warehousing and materials control operation at designated warehouses, work sites, or client facilities.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the efficient operation of warehouse activities, monitor efficiency and performance, and utilize labor effectively.
  • Materials Management: Manage the allocation, control, issue, and marshalling of materials between work locations, suppliers, and carriers, in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
  • Shipping and Documentation: Produce shipping documents for all materials movements and update procurement systems with goods receipts, manifests, and shipping documentation.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory in accordance with required inventory regimes, monitor warehouse activity, cycle counts, and stock checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Freight Forwarding and Customs: Manage freight forwarding and import/export activities, including customs control.
  • Materials Shortages and Surplus: Identify and manage materials shortages and surplus.
  • Small Plant and Equipment: Requisition and control small plant and equipment, tooling, and consumables.
  • Materials Status Reporting: Produce materials status reporting to project and client teams.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate material supply to and performance/delivery of fabrication items.
  • Maintenance and Preservation: Ensure maintenance and preservation of stored equipment.
  • Project Meetings and Liaison: Attend project progress meetings, purchase order pre-production meetings, and liaison with project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers to resolve materials supply issues.
  • Supply Chain Compliance: Ensure all supply chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan, schedule, and contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ISCED Level 4/5 (post-secondary non-tertiary/short-cycle tertiary) qualification.
  • Experience: Good solid level of experience in materials/logistics, demonstrating results and progression to a similar management position.
  • Skills: Varied and detailed work experience in the industry, allowing understanding of and exposure to key inventory, material control, and logistics concepts and principles.
  • ERP and Microsoft Office: Previous use of ERPs such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP, and competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Supply Chain Principles: Supply chain principles and techniques.
  • Interpersonal and Organizational Skills: Good interpersonal skills, logical thinker, planning and organizational skills, methodical in processing work activities/actions, adaptability and problem-solving skills, coordinate activities and prioritize workload of self and others, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and work independently to meet project/role objectives.
