Data Center Manager Job Description

ENGIE Middle East is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Manager to lead our team of shift engineers and technicians in providing exceptional support and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of shift engineers and technicians to ensure seamless operations and high-quality services.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team on complex critical issues, and lead their training and development.
  • Contractual Reporting: Review and analyze specialist contractual reports and activities, as well as internal reporting, vendor reports, and KPIs.
  • Maintenance and Upkeep: Lead the maintenance and upkeep of all Data Center infrastructure, ensuring uptime standards are met, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Incident Management: Coordinate activities and on-site staff during incidents, assist with root cause analysis, and make recommendations for eliminating potential problems.
  • Customer Communication: Hold reviews with customers, form part of escalation, and communicate clear updates to business and highlight progress/risk proactively.
  • Operational Budgeting: Manage operational budgets and engage in improvement projects, requiring collaboration with various support teams.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate daily with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs.
  • Resource Planning: Plan 24X7 resource availability and readiness for backup/emergency situations.
  • Confidentiality and Security: Ensure confidentiality of Mission Critical business and ensure the team follows the same.
  • Culture and Communication: Motivate a culture of clear communication to earn customer trust and deliver results.
  • Change Management: Ensure Change Management with appropriate approvals is followed.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Submit monthly reports for Site's performance and deliverables as per SLA, and maintain documentation like SOP, EOP, MOP, Policy, etc.
  • Enterprise Asset Management: Maintain Critical Spares and improve PUE and touch all key areas that impact PUE derivatives.
  • Utility Failover Testing: Conduct Utility Failover Testing as per company policy.
  • Vendor Onboarding: Onboard vendors and budget/planning of future expansions.
  • Training and Development: Ensure all resources (Engineers/Technicians/Supervisor) are confident to run Operations and conduct necessary training.
  • Reporting to Management: Report to Management with involved Risks and Future capacity planning.
