Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all team members are assessed for competency and maintain their skills in accordance with company standards.
  • Take full responsibility for all electrical engineering outputs, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering codes and the Client's policies.
  • Manage and report on the progress of electrical engineering and design budgets, aligning with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee resource requirements for engineering and design, ensuring alignment with contract specifications.
  • Guarantee adherence to management of change processes, both technical and financial.
  • Provide direction on technical inquiries related to electrical engineering and address any deviations appropriately.
  • Participate in project safety and design reviews as required.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed to the highest quality standards and delivered on schedule.
  • Promote a culture of safety at all times.
  • Offer sound technical advice and solutions to a variety of technical challenges within the discipline.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines throughout all phases of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
  • Provide technical support to site operations, including material inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Assist in coordinating all activities related to electrical systems.
  • Identify and address any concerns regarding progress or quality, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering/Project Manager.
  • Encourage innovative working methods and champion continuous improvement within the department.
  • Ensure that all lessons learned are documented and shared for future reference.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • A minimum of 6 years in a similar role with a Project Management Consultancy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical system design and analysis fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of international codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with common software used for electrical system design and selection, including Smart Plant.
  • Experience in participating in HAZID, HAZOP, and IPF/SIL Classification studies.
