As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operations in the reception area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors, ensuring a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, faxing, and scanning documents.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility using electronic verification systems or by contacting insurance providers directly.
  • Coordinate patient flow in the reception area to ensure timely check-ins, minimize wait times, and maintain a comfortable environment for patients.
  • Collect patient payments, process copayments, and reconcile daily cash transactions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, electronic medical records (EMR), and scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and external contacts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
