About the Role

MENA Recruit Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Lawyer to fill a Professional Support Lawyer position in our Dubai office. As a key member of our Corporate Commercial team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our knowledge management systems and providing technical legal expertise to our lawyers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Corporate Commercial team to develop precedents, templates, practice notes, and legal opinions that meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.
  • Provide academic and technical legal input for the preparation of memoranda, articles, legal commentaries, client briefings, newsflashes, and other marketing materials that showcase our expertise and thought leadership.
  • Ensure fee-earners are kept up to date on the latest developments in the law, including cases, legislation, and statutory instruments, through regular departmental meetings and written materials.
  • Supervise paralegals and interns in the development of knowledge documentation, precedents, and other know-how resources that support our lawyers' work.
  • Encourage associates to embrace knowledge sharing and identify knowledge champions within the team to maintain best practices and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Prepare and circulate know-how and assist in technical legal training and practice development to enhance our lawyers' skills and expertise.
  • Manage knowledge and learning for the practice group, including organizing and delivering practice-facing and client-facing legal training programs that meet the needs of our lawyers and clients.
  • Manage and contribute to the departmental section of our intranet, information databases, and knowledge management systems to ensure seamless access to information and resources.
  • Liaise with the Business Development and Marketing teams to contribute to the production of articles, briefings, newsletters, or other materials for circulation to clients or publication in selected journals.
  • Play a part in the marketing of the department and produce material for, and perhaps present, seminars both internally and externally to showcase our expertise and thought leadership.
  • Work with Partners, counsel, and associates to identify best practices, know-how, and learning requirements of the practice and implement the agreed offering.
  • Assist with prioritization and allocation of know-how projects and the implementation of the wider knowledge management departmental strategy.
Requirements and Personal Attributes
  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE and a strong academic record.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in corporate transactions and a deep understanding of the law.
  • Regional experience not required, but relocation support will be provided.
  • Added experience as a Professional Support Lawyer within an international law firm is desirable, but a minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified corporate commercial lawyer is essential.
  • Current or previous experience in a client-facing role with technical excellence in corporate transactions is highly valued.
