Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adventure Guide to join our team at Anantara Hotels & Resorts. As an Adventure Guide, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional tourism experiences to our guests, showcasing the beauty and wonder of our desert surroundings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with the Activities Coordinator: Collaborate with our Activities Coordinator to determine bookings and special requirements for guests and visitors.
  • Guest Greeting and Briefing: Greet visitors and guests as they arrive at the resort and provide a comprehensive briefing on the resort's history, culture, and surroundings.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Ensure that factual knowledge is imparted to visitors and guests regarding the history and future development of the resort, its animals, plants, and trees, birdlife, archeological heritage, and marine life.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Maintain cultural sensitivity at all times, respecting the diversity of our guests and visitors.
  • Tourism Activities: Guide and deliver tourism activities, including archery, biking, desert drives, camel rides, desert walks, falcon shows, city and cultural tours, wildlife drives, water activities, and other related tourism activities as directed by the Activities Department or Hotel Management.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Safely use all equipment, vehicles, and consumables related to the delivery of tourism activities, and maintain the level of maintenance and cleanliness of the equipment and activity sites.
  • Refreshment Packages: Support with the preparation of refreshment packages, including the proper furniture and setup for each activity.
  • Guest Safety: Ensure that visitors are safe and that hazards or potential hazards are mitigated and reported to management.
  • Safety Requirements: Ensure that safety requirements are adhered to by visitors, including the supply and correct use of all personal protective equipment for both themselves and guests, and the completion of all related safety briefings and indemnity-related paperwork.
  • Physical Fitness: Maintain a high level of physical fitness commensurate with the tourism activities being delivered.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a level of customer service skills and behavior commensurate with a 5-star resort.
  • VIP Escort: Escort VIPs, familiarization groups, and media, and be an ambassador for the resort and Anantara, ensuring that all interactions are professional and courteous.
  • Guest Feedback: Gather statistical information from guests and visitors regarding the quality of their experience and provide feedback to management in relation to guest requests and suggestions.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties associated with the position in order to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Experience: Have previous experience in a similar position for at least 1 year.
  • Dune Bashing Experience: Possess experience in dune bashing.
  • Luxury Hotel Experience: Have experience working in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Passion for Excellent Service: Demonstrate a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • Excellent Team Player: Be an excellent team player with great communication skills.
