PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guarantee that all contractual obligations and charter agreements are fulfilled meticulously, adhering to governmental and industry regulations as well as corporate policies.
  • Enhance deal execution within established limits, focusing on cost reduction and margin enhancement.
  • Evaluate execution risks and collaborate with relevant parties to mitigate them.
  • Engage daily with external stakeholders including contractual partners, terminal operators, vessel owners/brokers, and service providers such as cargo inspectors or port agents.
  • Maintain daily internal communication with Cargo/Freight Traders, Shipping & Maritime, Manufacturing, Product Optimizers, Claims, Contracts, Demurrage, Legal, and Trade Finance teams.
  • Oversee product quality standards to ensure compliance with contractual agreements while maximizing profitability.
  • Manage cargo operations, addressing off-spec issues, cargo readiness, scheduling, loading & unloading, STS transfers, blending, and optimizing volume/date ranges.
  • Ensure financial security measures are established prior to the transfer of ownership to clients.
  • Engage independent cargo inspectors, expeditors, and service providers as necessary.
  • Conduct investigations related to product quality through independent inspectors and expeditors.
  • Plan and manage the movement of refined products and components with varying complexities.
  • Handle intricate loading and blending operations in accordance with trader specifications, internal protocols, and facility availability.
  • Ensure timely communication of all operational information and compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Address contractual issues professionally, optimizing outcomes for the trading division.
  • Ensure that all operational data is accurately updated in trading systems to facilitate real-time information flow.
  • Assist with post-deal processes such as settlements, customs clearance, demurrage, and claims.
  • Maintain comprehensive records to fulfill the company's legal and fiscal responsibilities, including necessary regulatory submissions.
  • Provide guidance on cargo invoicing, diversion payments, and accrual clearances.
  • Oversee daily updates and monthly reconciliations of inventory at terminals, adhering to end-of-month protocols.
  • Generate inventory forecasts and scheduling reports.
  • Establish a robust network among key internal and external contacts, including suppliers, clients, and logistics service providers.
  • Offer backup support to team members as directed by management for coverage planning.
  • Facilitate KYC processes for third-party service providers, including storage firms, independent inspectors, and shipping agents.
  • Execute any other reasonable and lawful requests from management.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
  • Comply with the company's rules, regulations, procedures, and policies consistently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, BEHAVIORS)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commercial Studies, Logistics, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is a plus.

Experience

  • Over 6 years in the commodities trading sector.
  • At least 3 years in trading operations within the same product category, ideally in a similar role.

Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain (Products, Logistics, Processing).
  • Advanced knowledge of Legal & Contracts (Law, Incoterms, Tax, Regulation).
  • Strong background in Finance (Credit, Cost Control, Treasury).
  • Practical experience in Trading.
