Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician - Electrical and Instrumentation to join our team at DP World. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Conduct thorough inspections of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure proper installation and safe operation.
  • Assistance and Support: Provide assistance to vendors and commissioning engineers during commissioning and related modifications, as well as arrange for temporary personnel as required.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and modify equipment and systems as instructed, and ensure compliance with safety quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of technicians and guide them in day-to-day activities, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
  • Electrical and Instrumentation Work: Perform disconnections, modifications, and removals of existing cables, electrical control panels, light fittings, and other electrical/mechanical equipment/components as applicable.
  • Live Equipment Work: Work on live equipment when unavoidable, adhering to all safety procedures under close supervision.
  • Commissioning and Testing: Prepare equipment and systems for commissioning, conduct watchkeeping and recording of parameters, and use test equipment and measuring instruments as instructed.
  • Isolation and Energization: Perform isolations and energizations, understanding the scope as per instruction received from commissioning engineers.
  • Cold and Hot Loop Checks: Conduct cold and hot loop checks as per procedures, proving the integrity of installations before commissioning.
  • Operations and Handover: Operate equipment/instruments during commissioning, ensuring a smooth handover to the operations team.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Department Head.
Requirements
  • Education: ITI or Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation.
  • Training: MS Office Training.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience as an E&I Technician in a shipyard/oil & gas industry, or related field.
  • Skills: Conversant with applicable safe working practices, PTW Procedures, LOTO Procedures, quality & standards.
