About the Role

The Pipeline Field Engineer is a critical member of our team at Duncan & Ross, responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of pipeline systems during the construction phase of oil and gas projects. This role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in pipeline engineering to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the installation of pipeline systems and equipment on-site, ensuring that all work adheres to project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of pipeline work, providing technical guidance and support to site personnel, including welders, fitters, and subcontractors.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline-related issues that arise during construction, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, tests, and commissioning activities, collaborating with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, adhering to all HSE policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and inspections of pipeline works, and ensuring that all pipeline activities comply with environmental regulations and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, with 5 years in field engineering.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of pipeline systems, materials, and installation techniques specific to oil and gas projects, proficiency in using pipeline design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, PipeSim, Caesar II), excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI), and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
