Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly experienced Pipeline Engineering Lead to join our team at Wood. As a key member of our pipeline design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of pipeline designs for onshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design, and EPC/EPCM projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Pipeline Design Team: Develop and implement pipeline design strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Pipeline Route Selection: Conduct site visits, surveys, and data collection to identify optimal pipeline routes, taking into account environmental and safety considerations.
  • Design and Analysis: Perform mechanical calculations, expansion/anchor forces calculations, buoyancy, ovality/buckling checks, road/rail crossing, river crossing, and fault crossing analyses using Caesar-II/Auto pipe software.
  • Material Selection and Specification: Prepare pipeline materials/items, coating, inspection, testing, and installation specifications/datasheets, and perform technical bid evaluation/analysis and vendor data review.
  • Project Coordination: Liaise with client's engineering, operations, and maintenance staff to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
  • Technical Advice and Solutions: Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule, while promoting safe behavior.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree qualification in Engineering.
  • Experience: Total experience of around 15 years with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an engineering design company as a Lead Pipeline Engineer.
  • Operational Support/Construction and Commissioning Experience: Proven experience in operational support, construction, and commissioning.
  • Multi-National and Multi-Cultural Project Teams: Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of pipeline engineering design and analysis.
