About the Organization
This organization is involved in the exploration, production, transportation, and marketing of crude oil and natural gas. It operates through various segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate. The Upstream segment encompasses exploration, field development, and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Downstream segment is focused on refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, and petrochemical products, along with related services for both international and domestic clients. The Corporate segment provides essential support services including human resources, finance, and information technology.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer specializing in Downstream processes related to the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence team. This technical team is multidisciplinary and is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support to our manufacturing facilities, including refineries and petrochemical plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and track the performance of existing manufacturing facilities in the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain using key performance indicators (KPIs) focused on operability, profitability, reliability, energy efficiency, and process safety.
- Prepare quarterly performance benchmarking reports that analyze KPIs and provide recommendations for performance enhancements.
- Support facilities in executing recommendations and addressing performance gaps identified in benchmarking reports.
- Enhance the efficiency of production units in the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain through comprehensive monitoring and oversight.
- Facilitate benchmarking and best practices workshops among Global Manufacturing facilities.
- Offer technical advisory support to manufacturing facilities regarding plant operations and process design improvements, providing service reports for each support activity.
- Coordinate and drive corporate programs to the operating facilities for effective execution and monitoring.
- Engage in Business Plan development and collaborate with stakeholders for capital investments in assigned process units.
- Participate in hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies as necessary.
- Contribute to incident investigation activities related to the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain.
- Lead troubleshooting initiatives for unit operations, investigate off-spec products, and manage deliverables during turnarounds and unplanned shutdowns/startups.
- Conduct process parameters gap analysis and benchmarking among Global Manufacturing facilities to share best practices and technical recommendations.
- Organize benchmarking and best practices technical exchange workshops among Global Manufacturing facilities involved in the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain.
Qualifications
- This position requires the candidate to relocate permanently.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a refinery or petrochemical process unit, including expertise in process engineering and operations.
- At least 10 years of experience managing plants related to the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain.
- Familiarity with various process licensor technologies relevant to the Ethylene Oxide and Propylene Oxide value chain is advantageous.
- Strong mentorship abilities to guide the development of junior engineers.
- Knowledge of best practices, design principles, and international engineering standards pertinent to the operation of relevant process units.
