About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mason to join our team at Sisco Jobs. As a Mason, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining various types of structures using masonry techniques.

Main Responsibilities
  • Laying Bricks and Blocks: You will lay bricks, stones, and blocks to build or repair structures such as walls, pathways, and other masonry work.
  • Constructing and Repairing Structures: You will construct, repair, and maintain various types of structures including concrete foundations, walls, and floors.
  • Measuring and Cutting Materials: You will measure and cut materials to the desired specifications for masonry construction.
  • Mixing Mortar and Cement: You will mix mortar, cement, or grout using hand tools or mixing machines, ensuring proper consistency.
  • Reading Blueprints and Plans: You will read blueprints, plans, and sketches to determine material requirements and layout.
  • Setting Out Patterns and Foundations: You will set out patterns and foundations for construction projects, ensuring alignment and level.
  • Cleaning and Maintaining Tools: You will clean and maintain tools and equipment used for masonry tasks.
  • Following Safety Regulations: You will follow all safety regulations on site to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborating with Other Professionals: You will collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time.
Essential Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: You will have a high school diploma or relevant vocational training, and 2 to 5 years of experience as a mason (home country experience acceptable).
Skills Required
  • Proficiency in Masonry Techniques: You will have proficiency in bricklaying, block laying, and concrete work.
  • Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: You will have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and material specifications.
  • Understanding of Construction Materials: You will have a solid understanding of construction materials and tools used in masonry.
  • Physical Strength and Stamina: You will have strong physical strength and stamina to handle manual labor and work under various environmental conditions.
  • Attention to Detail: You will have good attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and craftsmanship.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You will have problem-solving skills to address onsite challenges and material adjustments.

  • Teamwork and Flexibility: You will have the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment and flexibility to work extended hours if required.
