Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, or their designee, provides continuous mechanical and electrical support service and repairs necessary to effectively maintain the safe operation of Health eCareers facilities. Resolves and documents all trouble calls relating to mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Responds to and resolves emergency maintenance calls in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Performs routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, physical structure, and associated equipment, including mechanical, electrical repairs, and other duties relating to facility maintenance.
  3. Conducts watch standing activities on physical plant equipment, including chemical analysis and treatment, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  4. Monitors and replenishes supplies of fuel, materials, maintenance supplies, and repair parts to maintain a well-stocked inventory.
  5. Conducts fire and life safety inspections, and maintains accurate records of findings and recommendations.
  6. Properly identifies and documents work that needs to be performed on equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  7. Maintains accurate documentation of work performed, including maintenance records and repair histories.
  8. Evaluates building equipment and systems, recommending changes, additions, or deletions to improve efficiency and safety.
  9. Assists with new building or expansion start-ups, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to operations.
  10. Assists with snow and ice removal, ensuring safe access to facilities and minimizing downtime.
  11. Performs building maintenance, repairs, and inspections as required, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  12. Performs all related tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer, or their designee, to support the overall maintenance and operations of Health eCareers facilities.
  13. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and clear communication, both verbal and written, to ensure effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications: Journeyman Stationary Engineer or five (5) years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and repair.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

Limited Maintenance Electrician License (Oregon) within 3 months of hire
Refrigerator Piping Installers Certificate within 3 months of hire
Universal Chlorofluorocarbons Certificate within 3 months of hire

Additional Requirements
  • Able to use all tools of the trade, including hand and power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret wiring schematics and blueprints, ensuring accurate understanding of complex systems.
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Able to maintain high quality standards in a healthcare environment, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Able to complete written documentation of all assigned work, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Able to operate personal computers and write basic building automation programs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, ensuring accurate understanding of building design and layout.
