About the Role

Couchbase is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join our team. As a Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in empowering developers to build modern cloud, mobile, and edge applications that deliver a premium user experience.

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Cloud Database Specialist to support our rapidly growing customer base and drive customer success. As a Cloud Database Specialist, you will be responsible for actively driving and managing the technical components of sales engagements. This includes explaining Couchbase's advantages and differentiators, and how our solutions stack meets customer challenges.

This specific position focuses on assisting customers who interact with our technology via application code and the application development process. This development-centric role requires experience in presales, software development, and business solutions. Experience with one or more Enterprise Programming Languages and Solution Development methodologies is essential.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate in a consultative process with customers and prospects to define their challenges and opportunities.
  2. Map these challenges to the Couchbase Ecosystem by presenting differentiating and sustainable business value.
  3. Educate and become a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions and current status while delivering value to the prospects and customers.
  4. Present art of the possible and think outside the box approaches and solutions.
  5. Support technical and business discovery activities, including workshops and demonstrations across multiple opportunities.
  6. Work closely with the sales team on account strategy and identifying additional opportunities in existing and new accounts.
  7. Ensure the success of customer PoC/Pilots through effective management of acceptance criteria and issue escalation/resolution.
  8. Develop and deliver exceptional and engaging company/product presentations and demonstrations.
  9. Work with all technical levels from managers to architects and developers, explaining the Couchbase Ecosystem and its applicability to business objectives and value.
  10. Be the technical product expert and advisor for customers and stay up-to-date on the data solutions competitive landscape.
  11. Partner with Product Management and Engineering to provide feedback from the field and represent the customer perspective.
  12. Identify and write internal and external technical collateral, like typical deployment architectures or best practices and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. 5+ years in a Pre-Sales/Customer-Facing/Consulting Role
  2. 2+ years of experience in software development or related industries
  3. Excellent presentation skills with an ability to present technical solutions concisely to customers or potential customers, from development roles to the C-Suite
  4. Proficient/Native Arabic language skills
  5. Passion for diving into technical issues and solving customer challenges
  6. Programming skills in any one of the following: Java, Python, Javascript,.NET, C, SQL
  7. Experienced in at least one of the major cloud services providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  8. Experienced in designing solutions on at least one major database platform, including data modeling, indexes, and query optimization.
Desirables
  1. Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, Containers etc)
  2. Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed high-performance systems
  3. Experience with database platform development is a plus.
  4. Hands-on experience with development of large-scale applications.
