Job Summary
The United Arab Emirates University is seeking a highly skilled Programmer Analyst to provide technical support to its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting in-house developed or purchased applications in the area of ERP system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the UAEU ERP System and advise and guide ERP functional owners and end-users.
- Work with the IT Coordinators or independently to support requirements gathering and analysis, including studying and defining business requirements and prioritizing features and functions of new or existing systems.
- Develop and implement applications as set in approved requirement specifications documents.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve all applications-related issues.
- Support the change management process in the University's Information Technology Services (UITS) and maintain accurate code documentation.
- Adhere to best practices in software development and provide assistance to other programmers as required.
- Translate flow charts, problem statements, and specifications into programming languages.
- Design specifications that translate users' business requirements into technical solutions (functional and interface design).
- Set up and support all software testing.
- Assist in the release control process by supporting the systems administration team in moving code from testing to production environment after completion and sign-off on User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ensure adherence to all information security policies and procedures of the University.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of relevant core programming experience in an enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in functional and technical support of Ellucian Banner 9.
- Experience with other Ellucian products (Workflow, BDMS, ODS) and third-party solutions integrated with Ellucian (i.e., Form Fusion, Intellecheck) will be an advantage.
- Experience with Oracle Developer (Forms and Reports).
- Strong programming knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL*Plus,.NET, and Java.
- Knowledge of application performance tuning techniques.
- Knowledge of software engineering methodologies and techniques based on best practices.
- Knowledge of modular design and development practices.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Oracle certification will be an advantage.
