Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • VAT Compliance
    • Manage the indirect tax compliance within the Group, including subsidiaries, and ensure effective reporting and compliance with all regulations and legislations.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Prepare and file VAT returns and journals, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting to the Tax Authorities.
    • Provide research support to the Senior Manager as and when required.
    • Regularly review the VAT tax charge code and ensure that the tax master database is updated and amended in the systems for any irregularities.
  • UAE CIT and Tax Reporting
    • Assist auditors with queries in relation to tax disclosures.
    • Prepare UAE CIT tax journals (CT and DT) and calculation of uncertain tax positions.
    • Prepare documentation and data necessary for UAE CIT elections.
    • Collate data necessary for filing of UAE Corporation tax returns.
  • ESR/CBCR and other returns
    • Prepare and submit ESR notifications and filing of the annual returns.
    • Prepare CBCR annual returns and notifications in UAE and foreign jurisdictions as required.
  • Ownership of Tax Policies and Procedures
    • Take overall ownership for ensuring that Group policies and practices are tax compliant.
    • Contribute towards the development and implementation of Tax principles, policies, processes, and Tax accounting to ensure completion and compilation of Tax mechanism across the business. Involve in drafting and assessing Tax policies and procedures as needed to improve controls.
  • Tax Governance Framework
    • Produce technical accounting documentation with regards to any rules or regulation changes.
    • Ensure reporting period delivery and concerns are well managed and stakeholders are kept appraised of progress with regular status updates.
  • Technical Tax VAT Transfer Pricing ESR & CbCR Advisory
    • Partner with business stakeholders in charting of tax accounting for new product launches.
    • Assist Senior Manager with preparation of tax advice and direction to the business units, including review of tax provisions in legal agreements.
  • Liaison with Internal and External Auditors Tax Authorities & Regulators
    • Plan and complete Tax audits and liaise with external and internal auditors and tax consultancy providers.
    • Act as a first point of contact for all tax-related activities and manage external adviser relationships.
    • Respond to queries related to tax and liaison with tax authorities and regulators.
    • Track all outstanding tax audits and ensure assistance is provided to all material tax audit to eliminate any future audit risk.
  • Leadership and People Management
    • Liaise with the department business units, technology team on an ongoing basis for tax projects and ongoing responsibilities.
    • Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
