About the Role

This senior leadership position will oversee the strategic direction and operational execution of Regional Logistics functions, ensuring seamless delivery of services to customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of 30 professionals and 1,100 indirect agents, driving regional standardization and operational excellence in line with Talabat's blueprint.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve Dispatching/Contact Centre/Local Logistics SOPs, enhancing rider experience, earnings, and efficiency.
  3. Negotiate regional fleet partner commercials, rider fee model revisions, partnership deals, and dispatching BPO rates and commercial structure.
  4. Collaborate with C-level executives, Regional and Local Logistics leadership to sharpen their communications and storytelling, driving meaningful outcomes for Talabat and stakeholders.
  5. Break down complex operational problems into manageable workstreams, governing progress and updating senior stakeholders in a matrix organizational structure.
  6. Support local teams in ad-hoc crisis management with other regional stakeholders: Public Affairs and Legal.

Requirements

This role requires a seasoned professional with:

  1. At least 8 years of experience, combining 2-3 years in consulting (or in-house strategy) and 2-3 years in Operations in a relevant/fast-paced industry.
  2. Great team management skills, with experience running a central/regional team and previous consulting experience.
  3. Demonstrated aptitude to grasp new concepts and functional expertise quickly, driving quick wins and sustainable impact.
  4. Structured problem-solving skills, with ability to go high-level and visionary with C-levels and deep into detail with team members.
  5. Dynamic ways of working, with ability to reprioritize on the go while managing sustainability and action plans for the team.
  6. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (verbal, written, and presentation-making skills).
  7. Experience in the last-mile or gig-economy industry and/or Middle Eastern working experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience in leading an Operations function within a local market and proficiency in Arabic are desirable.
