Design Management Specialist

At Turner & Townsend, we're seeking a highly skilled Design Management Specialist to join our team. As the key day-to-day client interface, you'll ensure that client objectives are met from a design management perspective.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who wants to make a difference in the Design Management team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong monitoring and commenting skills on specifications;
  • Ability to chair and prepare Design and Design Coordination Meetings, including preparation and distribution of minutes and Design Action Register;
  • Excellent oversight skills regarding Safety in Design and timely preparation of Design Risk Assessments;
  • Collaborative working style with designers and supervision consultants to agree standards required for mockups;
  • Initial response to Contractor Notices requesting additional supporting information as appropriate prior to the Design Team and Supervision Consultants responses;
  • Monitoring of the performance of supervision consultants and design guardians with respect to quality and timeliness of responding to contractor submittals;
  • Mitigation, monitoring, and reporting on design risks throughout the project.

To succeed in this role, you'll need a degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or an equivalent technical qualification. Hospitality, residential, leisure or large-scale mixed-use development experience is desired.
