Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our Equity Financing activity. As Chief Equity Financing Officer, you will be responsible for launching and managing this new business line within our Global Securities Finance team. Your primary objective will be to replicate the success we have achieved in fixed income trading by offering clients from the GCC region and beyond liquidity, short-covering opportunities, and easier access to local shares.

You will work closely with our structuring team to develop new products and enhance our offer, optimizing the use of capital and generating alpha from inherited positions. Additionally, you will provide support to our sales force in onboarding new clients and developing synergies across our business lines.

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Launching a client-driven Equity financing trading activity
  • Optimizing the use of scarce resources
  • Carefully managing risk and achieving the defined P&L target
  • Contributing to the development of reports and processes for reliable business follow-up
  • Sharing expertise within the GSF team
  • Onboarding the use of swap, futures, and options within the GSF perimeter to ensure synergies are developed and all value is extracted from the activity
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the capital markets industry, with a strong track record in Equity trading and particularly Equity Financing
  • Practical knowledge of usual products used in Equity financing activities (TRS, IRS, Futures, Options, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Middle East equity markets
  • Familiarity with Murex and Triparty platforms
  • A proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
