Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join our team at Ether. As a key member of our development team, you will play a pivotal role in crafting intuitive, secure, and high-performance native Android applications that seamlessly integrate with blockchain networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain highly responsive, visually appealing Android applications using Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with our product and design team to conceptualize and implement new features in Figma that enhance user experience and drive engagement within Android applications. Apply Figma designs to the Android App.
  • Blockchain Integration: Collaborate closely with blockchain developers to integrate efficient data querying using GraphQL or other relevant technologies.
  • Web3 Technologies: Implement Android-compatible web3 technologies to enable blockchain functionalities like transactions, wallet connections, and smart contract interactions within the DApps.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold application performance, quality, and responsiveness standards, ensuring code integrity and organization throughout the Android development process.
  • Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology, Android development, and security protocols to continuously enhance the product's functionality and security.
  • Testing and Deployment: Create Unit and UI-tests and a smooth CI/CD flow for internal/external testing and production releases.
  • App Store Management: Communicate with the Play Store representatives to ensure a smooth and timely release of the app every time an update is pushed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Android development.
  • Blockchain Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in building Android applications, including interaction with backends and databases (GraphQL experience is a plus).
  • Blockchain Knowledge: Familiarity with Android-compatible blockchain interaction libraries such as KEthereum, WalletConnect, or similar frameworks is a plus.
  • Development Tools: Knowledge of development tools and methodologies, including version control systems like Git, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing frameworks tailored for Android.
  • Blockchain Experience: Experience or prior work in Blockchain and especially the Ethereum ecosystem is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
