Job Summary

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Completion E&I Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing mechanical completion activities, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with commissioning engineers to define system/subsystem boundaries and develop pre-commissioning and commissioning planning.
  • Assist in generating commissioning programs and tracking jobs related to mechanical completion.
  • Coordinate with engineering, owner's representative, and trades supervisory staff for mechanical completion and preservation activities.
  • Prepare databases for tags and manage them in project completion software.
  • Issue and update mechanical completion check sheets, preservation check sheets, and punch lists in the system.
  • Inspect and verify installations, making punch lists as necessary.
  • Systemize and mark up subsystems for mechanical completion packages.
  • Prepare mechanical completion packages and document complete mechanical completion dossiers.
  • Coordinate and manage warranty activities.
Requirements
  • Education and knowledge in Mechanical/Electrical or Marine Engineering is essential.
  • Good project management and contract administrative skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in Shipyard or similar facility with MC activities for conversion and new buildings.
  • Good knowledge and experience in construction activities and related quality requirements.
  • Sound knowledge in MC activities, certification requirements, and regulatory requirements of Marine and Offshore, process, and Drilling equipment.
  • Familiar with Norsok standards, class rules, and shipbuilding standards.
  • Strong background in resolving technical issues during project planning and execution phases.
  • Conversant with permit to work system and lock out tag out system.
  • Experience in mechanical completion, commissioning, and preservation procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in project completion software such as WinPCS, PIMS, Procosys, etc.
