Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Description

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Dubai. As a key member of our site supervision team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Oversight: Monitor the mechanical scope of works to ensure conformance with contract documents and procedures.
  • Submittal Review: Review, approve, and process all mechanical technical submittals.
  • RFI Management: Answer RFIs related to mechanical aspects.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate and supervise the work of mechanical activities and operations.
  • Change Order Review: Review contractors' mechanical change order proposals and prepare recommendations.
  • Liaison and Coordination: Liaise with sub-consultants and review contractors' claims related to mechanical works.
  • Documentation Management: Review contractors' project record documents relevant to their discipline.
  • Inspector Management: Manage mechanical inspectors.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Analyze laboratory and testing reports, and assist with the inspection of completed works.
  • Sign-off and Completion: Sign off on completed mechanical works with completed documentation.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in Construction Administration in the UAE and 5 years in the Middle East with international consultant firms.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical background, excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, products, and materials, and applicable design and construction codes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to review and comment on necessary documentation.
  • Project Understanding: Complete project understanding in the given discipline, from start to hand-over.
