Job Description

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engineering Design and Detailing: Provide specialist engineering design and detailing services for civil and structural works on oil and gas projects.
  2. Rotating Equipment Design: Develop and implement designs for rotating equipment and dynamic foundations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  3. Specification and Design Basis: Create and maintain specifications and design basis documents for civil and structural works.
  4. Design Compliance: Ensure that designs meet relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
  5. Software Proficiency: Utilize STAAD, Foundation Design Suite, Navisworks, SP3D, E3D, PDS, and PDMS software for analysis and design.
  6. Model Review: Conduct model reviews and provide feedback on design models.
  7. Design Calculations: Prepare design calculations using Excel spreadsheets.
  8. Safety Standards: Achieve and maintain safety standards as defined in personal performance contracts.
  9. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to working practices and systems to enhance personal and team performance.
  10. Compliance and Quality: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Wood's and project Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
  11. Technical Quality: Maintain the required technical quality of work.
  12. Scope and Schedule Management: Identify and manage scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
  13. Planning and Cost Control: Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
  14. Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to discipline-assigned personnel as required.
  15. Budget and Schedule Compliance: Ensure that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
  16. Technical Development: Stay up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards, and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.
  17. Work Output Review: Review, prepare, check, and/or approve work output of discipline-assigned personnel.
  18. Estimates and Schedules: Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
  19. Client Communication: Maintain good communication with clients.
  20. Discipline Filing System: Maintain a discipline filing system.
  21. Lateral Learning: Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.
Qualifications
  1. Engineering Degree: Hold an engineering degree.
  2. Civil/Structural Engineering Background: Have a minimum BSc in civil or structural engineering.
  3. Post-Graduate Experience: Possess a minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience.
  4. Oil and Gas Industry Experience: Have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  5. Designation Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the designation.
