Job Title: Data Architect

Duncan & Ross is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our organization's data architecture, ensuring that our data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design our data architecture, including data models, database structures, and data integration frameworks that meet our business needs.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
  • Design and oversee data integration processes, including ETL workflows, data migration, and real-time data streaming, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
  • Work closely with business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure that our data architecture supports analytical and operational needs.
  • Manage and optimize databases, including SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
  • Ensure that all data architecture and management practices comply with relevant data protection laws and regulations in the MENA region, including data localization requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for our data architecture, including data models, database schemas, and integration processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineers, developers, and other IT staff, ensuring best practices in data management and architecture.
  • Leverage your knowledge of regional data practices, regulations, and business environments to design data solutions that are culturally and legally appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in data architecture, database management, and data governance.
  • Experience working in or with organizations in the MENA region.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data integration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools, including data cataloging and data quality management.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and data lakes.
  • Familiar with technologies like Forcepoint, Symantec, Informatica, Teradata, and others.
Language Skills:

Fluency in Arabic and English is required, with strong communication skills in both languages.

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
  • Leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior staff.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • TOGAF Certified
  • AWSCertified Big Data Specialty
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
