Job Title: Data Architect

Duncan & Ross is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our organization's data architecture, ensuring that data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design data architecture, including data models, database structures, and data integration frameworks that meet business needs.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
  • Design and oversee data integration processes, including ETL workflows, data migration, and real-time data streaming, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to gather requirements and ensure that the data architecture supports analytical and operational needs.
  • Manage and optimize databases, including SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
  • Ensure that all data architecture and management practices comply with relevant data protection laws and regulations in the MENA region, including data localization requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for data architecture, including data models, database schemas, and integration processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineers, developers, and other IT staff, ensuring best practices in data management and architecture.
  • Leverage knowledge of regional data practices, regulations, and business environments to design data solutions that are culturally and legally appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in data architecture, database management, and data governance.
  • Experience working in or with organizations in the MENA region.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data integration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools, including data cataloging and data quality management.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and data lakes.
  • Familiarity with technology, such as Forcepoint, Symantec, Informatica, Teradata, and etc.
Language Skills:

Fluency in Arabic and English is required, with strong communication skills in both languages.

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
  • Leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior staff.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
  • TOGAF Certified
  • AWSCertified Big Data Specialty
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
