Job Summary:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to oversee the planning, scheduling, and supervision of engineering work on a major road and infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the Employer and Contractor, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with contractual specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the design team to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily diaries, reports, and site documentation.
- Coordinate with the Contractor to schedule and allocate resources, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Employer, Contractor, and Client/PMC.
- Provide recommendations for Contractor payments, claims, and variation orders, ensuring fair and transparent decision-making.
- Participate in contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements:
- University BSc (Preferably MSc) Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 15 years engineering experience and, depending on the assignment, a minimum of 08 years' experience in the specific infrastructure works.
- Demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision on major road and general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.
- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations preferred.
- Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
- Have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Registered as practicing engineer in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi or should have an equivalency certificate.
Desired Skills:
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project.
