Job Title: BIM Architect

At Duncan & Ross, we are seeking a highly skilled BIM Architect to join our team. As a BIM Architect, you will be responsible for managing the execution of BIM processes on a day-to-day basis, providing support to the architectural design team and management staff, and performing original design work using BIM specifications, sketches, and ideas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the execution of BIM processes, ensuring seamless integration with architectural design and engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with senior architects and management to develop and implement BIM standards and protocols.
  • Develop and maintain detailed BIM models and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Conduct preliminary studies of proposed projects, gathering information on space and design requirements.
  • Prepare layout and preliminary BIM models for client presentations, showcasing design concepts and approaches.
  • Analyze space utilization effectiveness and changing demands, recommending actions to meet new requirements.
  • Compile data for architectural plans, specifications, and reports using BIM software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare BIM models and detailed drawings required for contract documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate the development of detailed working BIM models and specifications, ensuring seamless integration with engineering teams.
  • Assist with coordinating the bid process, reviewing BIM-related submissions, and ensuring adherence to contract requirements.
  • Review shop drawings, specifications, and material recommendations, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Prepare record drawings on completion of construction using BIM software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a BIM Architect, with a strong background in high-rise mixed-use projects.
  • Existing UAE experience working for an Architectural Consultancy, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality BIM projects.
  • Proficient in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, with experience in additional tools like Dynamo, SketchUp, and Rhino.
  • Conversant with international codes and standards for building design and BIM implementation, with a strong understanding of quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  • Excellent design, technical, and presentation skills, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working autonomously within a BIM framework, with a flexible and open-minded approach to new ideas and feedback.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain BIM standards and protocols, and coordinate multidisciplinary BIM projects.
