About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our team at Asterix Communications. As a key member of our Consult business, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies and contract selection processes to ensure optimal outcomes for our clients.
  2. Provide expert technical and functional advice on cost planning, budgeting, and estimating to ensure accurate and reliable financial projections.
  3. Lead the preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses to ensure seamless execution and compliance.
  4. Manage and oversee the measurement of project valuations, ensuring accurate and timely cost checking and valuation work.
  5. Deliver high-quality cost control and reporting services to stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  6. Direct and manage costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges, ensuring effective cost management and control.
  7. Drive continuous improvement in processes through the application of best practices and lessons learned, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  8. Oversee the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by external stakeholders, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
  9. Manage certificates of practical completion, ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed, and ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.
  10. Lead a large team of direct reports, driving the achievement of success and key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.
  11. Provide performance management, technical, and career development, and coaching to team members, ensuring their growth and success.
  12. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve the common goal of net-zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
Requirements
  1. Essential experience working in the United Arab Emirates is required for client approval.
  2. Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients, with a proven track record of success.
  3. Proven experience in cost planning, budgeting, and estimating, with a strong understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken.
  4. Good negotiating, influencing, and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
  5. Sound knowledge of costs and timescales of work undertaken, with implications of risk of failure to deliver.
  6. Proven experience of different types of contracts, including method of measurement.
  7. Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications.
  8. Negotiation skills.
  9. Analytical skills.
  10. Digitally competent.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
  2. Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  3. Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  4. Solid knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  5. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  6. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
