Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of accounting tasks and projects.
  • Financial Analysis: Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, reconcile financial statements, and ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Accounting Practices: Align general ledger accounting practices to support business operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions, including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts in the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, with previous experience of managing a team of at least 2 accountants.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Accounting, with ACCA or equivalent professional certification.
  • Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal departments and stakeholders.
  • Software Skills: Previous experience of using Oracle or Opera Accounting Software is an advantage.
