- Keep RN informed throughout the shift of patient status and needs, communicating in the English language unless acting as an interpreter.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with patients and staff, responding positively to constructive criticism.
- Participate in continuing education, inservices, and staff development within the department and Medical Center, maintaining unit-specific work requirements and competencies.
- Contribute to unit quality improvement activities, utilizing nursing problem-solving techniques and taking initiative to recognize and evaluate areas of concern.
- Improvise to find solutions and initiate appropriate follow-through, demonstrating flexibility to function in various settings based on individual skills.
- Maintain and utilize equipment, supplies, and work area in accordance with department guidelines, promptly reporting equipment malfunctions to the Unit Assistant.
- Minimum of one year of experience in the previous three years as an LVN in an acute hospital, outpatient, or Home Health/Hospice setting, or completion of a New Graduate LVN training program.
- Vocational Nurse License (California)
- I.V. Certification within 3 months of hire
- Basic Life Support
- Will consider sub-acute experience.
- Heavy physical demands, including frequent pulling, pushing, and lifting of patients and equipment.
- Maintains current IV certification; if no IV certificate, will be required to attend and pass a Kaiser Permanente IV certification training.
