We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Service Coordinator to join our team at NMC Hospital. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient registration process for all outpatients, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Registration Process: Register all outpatients upon arrival, adhering to hospital policies and maintaining confidentiality.
  2. Patient Identification: Verify patient identity documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  3. Insurance Eligibility Confirmation: Confirm patients' insurance eligibility for approval.
  4. Service Scheduling: Schedule, reschedule, cancel, and confirm outpatient and medical services as needed.
  5. Cash Collection and Handling: Collect payment from patients, including cash, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments, according to insurance and/or Statement of Benefits (SOB).
  6. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with nursing and other departments to address patient inquiries.
  7. Service Delays Notification: Inform patients about delays in diagnostic or treatment services.
  8. Proper Directing and Guiding: Direct patients to the correct clinics or areas.
  9. Document Submission and Management: Submit documents related to cash collection and refunds to the Chief Cashier.
  10. Record Maintenance and Reporting: Maintain accurate records for authentication purposes, reporting to the Billing Supervisor.
  11. Cash Reconciliation and Deposit: Perform daily cash and credit card reconciliations, and report any discrepancies to the Chief Cashier, followed by depositing collected cash into the Main Cash Box.
  12. Rectification Support and Coordination: Provide support for rectification of documents and reports requested by the Back Office Claims Submission Team.
  13. Training Assistance and Development: Assist in training new employees as directed by the supervisor.
  14. Insurance Protocol Knowledge: Possess knowledge of insurance protocols.
  15. Pre-authorization Coordination and Support: Work with the insurance department and clinic for pre-authorization of services.
  16. Basic Medical Terminology Familiarity: Familiarity with basic medical terminology, limited to front office operations.
