Job Purpose

Main Responsibilities

  1. Refine laboratory tests, focusing on complex procedures like HLA molecular testing and PCR amplification, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  2. Maintain rigorous quality control measures to guarantee precise test results and adherence to established standards.
  3. Utilize analytical skills to interpret complex laboratory data, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Communicate effectively with clinical and laboratory teams to foster collaboration and convey technical information clearly.
  5. Mentor and guide junior staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  6. Manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines.
  7. Stay current with advancements in clinical genomics and laboratory methodologies, adapting to changes in the laboratory environment.
  8. Contribute to patient safety and high-quality healthcare delivery.

Requirements

  1. At least 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting since initial certification as a qualified laboratory science professional.
  2. Hold relevant leadership and management experience within a clinical context.

Qualifications

  1. Possess a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or equivalent qualification requiring a minimum of two years' training.
  2. Hold either a DOH or DHA license.
